call-and-respond II

This work emerged from a collaboration between my nephew Oliver, the land of Maun, Botswana, and myself. Before my visit, I told Oliver about the project, and by the time I arrived, he had already scouted the appropriate clay deposits for me to source from. This joyful shared act of gathering and creating was formed through an exchange between land and family, materialising in form through the artistic process.
