This work explores the theme of belonging. Through painting with materials from two continents I consider home—one my birthplace, the other my ancestral land—through this enquiry I have questioned how places so geographically distant can coexist as part of a singular, connected whole within my life.

The experience of feeling removed from either place brings a sense of loss and longing, prompting deeper reflection on those who have been, and continue to be, forcibly displaced from their homelands.
